Free Insulin for Type 1 Diabetic Children: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Initiative

In a historic move, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a groundbreaking program to provide free insulin to children with Type 1 diabetes. This initiative marks the first time in the country’s history that such support being extended to children battling this chronic condition.

Insulin Delivered to Homes

Under the CM Maryam Nawaz Insulin Program, Type 1 diabetic children will receive insulin directly at their homes, sparing them the inconvenience of hospital visits. The program also features a dedicated helpline (1033), enabling easy registration and access to services.

Parents can contact their local NCD clinics at tehsil or district levels to benefit from this initiative. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that children like flowers and must be nurtured with care. She added, “As a mother, I understand the pain of children suffering from illnesses, and this program aims to ease their challenges.”

Lifelong Support for Type 1 Diabetic Children

Children with Type 1 diabetes require lifelong insulin therapy. This program aims to alleviate the financial and emotional burden on families. The Chief Minister assured that all available resources will utilized to ensure the health and well-being of children across Punjab.

Awareness and Action Against AIDS

On World AIDS Day, Maryam Nawaz also highlighted the importance of addressing AIDS as a critical social issue. She stressed the need for collective efforts to prevent the spread of AIDS and ensure treatment for those affected. She said, “AIDS patients deserve compassion and support, not stigma.”

Strict implementation of SOPs for AIDS screening during dialysis has ensured in Punjab. Legal action has already taken against negligence in following protocols in Multan. The government committed to achieving its goals for AIDS eradication.
