K-Electric has shared a temporary power outage schedule to carry out annual maintenance of its transmission network. These maintenance activities are planned for the winter months, a time when electricity demand is relatively lower, to ensure the smooth functioning of high-voltage equipment that supports large-scale power supply.
The power outages are necessary to keep the system running efficiently and to avoid bigger issues in the future. However, K-Electric assures its customers that every effort will be made to minimize disruptions by using alternative power sources. Despite this, some areas may experience temporary power interruptions. K-Electric clarified that these should not be mistaken for regular load-shedding.
The maintenance work will take place on specific grids and high-voltage lines. According to the schedule, the North Karachi Grid is set for maintenance on December 21, while the KE Industrial Zone Grid (KEPZ) will undergo work on December 29.
For updates and assistance, K-Electric has made sure its social media platforms are available 24/7 to guide customers. Additionally, users can access services through the KE Live app, WhatsApp self-service portal, or by contacting the call center at 118.
While power outages might cause minor inconvenience, the scheduled maintenance is crucial to ensure a reliable power supply for the future. So, if you’re in the affected areas, plan your activities accordingly and stay connected with K-Electric for real-time updates.
