ASWJ Sit-Ins Locations in Karachi: Full List and Traffic Updates

The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has announced a series of sit-ins at 60 locations across Karachi, compounding the challenges already faced by residents due to ongoing protests by the Majlis-e-Wahdatul-Muslimeen (MWM).

The central leadership of ASWJ declared that the sit-ins would begin at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, aiming to press their demands. During a press conference, ASWJ leaders issued a 24-hour ultimatum to the Sindh government to address their concerns or face citywide disruptions.

Protests Add to Karachiites’ Woes

These planned demonstrations follow a week of citywide disruption caused by MWM protests against the Kurram issue. MWM has been holding sit-ins at ten key locations, leading to severe traffic congestion, road closures, and long delays for commuters.

The ongoing protests have resulted in immense hardship for Karachi residents, with provincial authorities attempting to mediate and restore order.

Authorities Respond to Growing Crisis

Karachi Additional Inspector General (AIG) Javed Alam Odho initially stated during a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon that the ongoing protests would be cleared by Maghrib on Monday.

However, a police spokesperson later clarified that no direct orders had been issued to terminate the protests. The spokesperson attributed the earlier remarks to a misunderstanding.

AIG Odho emphasized that Karachiites have endured significant challenges over the past week and assured that action would be taken to mitigate further disruptions.

Karachi Residents Brace for Further Chaos

The announcement of additional sit-ins by ASWJ has sparked concerns about intensified traffic gridlock and prolonged suffering for Karachi residents. With major arteries of the city likely to be affected, the situation calls for immediate attention from both government authorities and community leaders.

Stay tuned for updates on the ASWJ sit-ins and traffic advisories to navigate through Karachi during this period of unrest.
