Qatar Airways Shuts Down Offices in Pakistan? Official Response from the Airline

Qatar Airways has firmly denied rumors about closing its offices in Pakistan, assuring that operations continue smoothly. In a recent statement on social media platform X, the airline emphasized, “Qatar Airways flights to and from Pakistan are operating as usual, and our offices remain open.”

This clarification comes after reports suggested that the Qatari national carrier had shut down its offices across Pakistan as part of cost-cutting measures. However, the airline has labeled these claims as incorrect.

In other developments, Qatar Airways announced plans to resume flights to Damascus, Syria, after nearly 13 years. The airline plans to start with three weekly flights, marking a significant step in reconnecting the region. This decision comes more than a decade after the onset of the Syrian civil war.

Financially, Qatar Airways has shown strong performance. Last year, the airline reported a 39% increase in annual net profit, reaching a record 6.1 billion Qatari riyals ($1.67 billion). Revenue also grew by 6% to 81 billion riyals in the year ending March 31. The airline carried over 40 million passengers, achieving a load factor of 83%.

Qatar Airways’ commitment to maintaining its operations in Pakistan and expanding its network reflects its resilience and strategic growth, despite challenges in the global aviation industry.
