Karachi’s popular Peoples Bus Service has announced a fare increase of up to 60%, leaving daily commuters concerned about the additional burden on their budgets. This fare hike will be implemented starting February 1, 2025, as per an official announcement.
Peoples Bus Service Karachi Fare 2025
The revised fares vary based on travel distances. The minimum fare, currently set at Rs50, will remain for shorter routes, while the maximum fare will now go up to Rs100, depending on the distance. These updated rates are already displayed on buses for public awareness.
For Karachi’s office-goers, students, and daily travelers, this increase is a significant adjustment. The Peoples Bus Service has become a lifeline for thousands navigating the bustling streets of Karachi.
Karachi Red Bus New Routes
The Peoples Bus Service, launched in June 2022 by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has expanded its services over time to cater to a broader audience. Some key route additions include:
- Route 13: Hawks Bay to Tower (operational since July 22, 2024).
- Route 12: Extended to Tower via Quaidabad, Korangi, and Memon Goth (from July 23, 2024).
- EV 4: Bahria Town to Numaish.
- Yousaf Goth to Tower route announced later.
These expansions aimed to improve Karachi’s transport infrastructure, but the latest fare hike might pose challenges for commuters relying on this service daily.
