This sacred night is a time for prayers, repentance, and reflection. Here are some important things that can be done on Shab-e-Barat:
1. Offer Special Prayers (Nawafil)
- Perform extra Nawafil prayers and recite Quranic verses to seek Allah’s guidance and mercy.
- Tahajjud prayer is highly recommended on this night.
2. Seek Forgiveness from Allah
- Repent sincerely for past mistakes and seek Allah’s mercy.
- Recite Astaghfar (prayers of forgiveness) and make dua for personal and communal well-being.
3. Visit Graveyards (Qabristan)
- Many people visit graveyards to offer Fateha and prayers for deceased loved ones.
- It is a time to reflect on life and pray for departed souls.
4. Engage in Charity and Helping Others
- Shab-e-Barat is an opportunity to help the less fortunate by giving charity.
- Distribute food, clothes, and financial aid to those in need.
5. Recite Surah Yaseen & Other Quranic Verses
- It is common to recite Surah Yaseen and other portions of the Holy Quran on this night.
- Reading Durood Sharif (salutations upon the Prophet Muhammad, PBUH) is also encouraged.
