The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has planned a spectacular Pakistan Air Force (PAF) flypast on February 19 to celebrate the start of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. However, this grand event comes with a temporary closure of Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
Jinnah International Airport Closed for an Hour
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has officially issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), alerting all national and international airlines about the temporary closure.
As per the NOTAM, a designated air corridor will remain closed between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM, meaning no flights will be allowed to land or take off during this period.
With this planned airspace restriction, airlines operating to and from Karachi Airport have been instructed to carry extra fuel and implement precautionary measures to handle any delays.
The CAA has officially informed all airlines about these instructions, ensuring smooth coordination for the event.
Jinnah International Airport Flight Schedule Changed
Several commercial flights are set to experience minor schedule changes due to the closure. Affected flights include:
- AirSial’s flight from Lahore to Karachi (PF-144)
- Fly Jinnah’s flight from Lahore to Karachi (9P-843)
- Airblue’s flight from Karachi to Lahore (PA-402)
If you’re traveling to or from Karachi or Lahore, it’s best to check with your airline for any updated schedules before heading to the airport.
This flypast is set to be a thrilling prelude to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, promising excitement both in the skies and on the cricket field!
