Traffic Diversions Due to Karachi Water Pipeline Repair
Due to the road closure, traffic coming from NIPA is being redirected via the Expo turning, while vehicles from Essa Nagri are being routed through the Hassan Square bridge towards the stadium. Authorities have urged drivers to use alternative roads to avoid congestion and delays.
BRT Construction and Infrastructure Issues in Karachi
The BRT project in Karachi has already faced criticism for infrastructure-related problems. Earlier, the Sindh High Court (SHC) summoned the city’s mayor and the secretary of transport regarding concerns over tree-cutting along the BRT route. The secretary of forests clarified that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is responsible for trees within the city, while the forest department oversees areas outside urban limits. The court has now asked KMC to submit a detailed report on the matter.
With water pipeline repair work ongoing in Karachi, authorities have requested commuters to stay updated on traffic conditions and use alternative routes to minimize delays. As Karachi continues to expand its transport infrastructure, challenges like these highlight the need for better planning and coordination to prevent future disruptions.
