Karachi Red Bus Ramadan Timings Extended: Service to Operate Until 1 AM

The Sindh government has announced an extension in Karachi’s Peoples Bus Service (Red Bus) timings during Ramadan. From the 15th of Ramadan, the buses will operate until 1 AM, making it easier for commuters to travel late at night. This decision aims to accommodate increased public transport demand, especially for those engaged in shopping, Taraweeh prayers, and other Ramadan activities.

Extended Red Bus Timings for Key Routes

The extended service hours will apply to multiple Peoples Bus Service routes in Karachi, including:

  • R1, R2, R3, R4, R9, R10, and EV1

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon confirmed the decision, stating that the government understands the transportation challenges faced by Karachiites during Ramadan. Since a large portion of the population relies on public transport, this step will provide much-needed convenience.

Why the Extension in Bus Timings is Important?

During Ramadan, Karachi witnesses a significant increase in nighttime activity, with people frequently going out for shopping, Iftar gatherings, and prayers. Many residents face difficulties finding transport late at night, especially after shopping at busy markets. With the Red Bus service now running until 1 AM, citizens will have a safe and reliable commuting option.

Government’s Commitment to Public Welfare

Minister Sharjeel Memon emphasized that the Sindh government is committed to improving transportation facilities for the people. The government wants to ensure that everyone can return home safely and conveniently after their Ramadan activities.

He further stated that authorities will ensure the smooth operation of Peoples Bus Service during the holy month and urged Karachiites to take full advantage of the extended bus timings.

Safe and Affordable Public Transport During Ramadan

The Karachi Red Bus Service has become an essential mode of transport for daily commuters. The extended service will help people, especially those who do not own private vehicles, travel safely and affordably during Ramadan.
