Naseer Soomro, one of the tallest men in the world, passed away on Monday at the age of 55 in Sindh’s Shikarpur district. His brother, Riaz Soomro, confirmed the heartbreaking news. Naseer had been battling a severe lung disease for the past several months and was receiving treatment at home.
Naseer Soomro’s Funeral
The funeral prayers for Naseer Soomro will be held today (Tuesday) in Shah Muhala, Shikarpur. With a towering height of 7 feet 9 inches, he was considered one of the tallest people in the world. His extraordinary stature brought Pakistan international recognition, and he was even employed by the national airline due to his remarkable height.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of Naseer Soomro. In his condolence message, he prayed for the elevation of the departed soul and offered strength to the grieving family.
“In this moment of grief, the entire nation stands in solidarity with Naseer Soomro’s family,” the Prime Minister said. “May Allah grant patience to the bereaved family. Ameen.”
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Tessori also expressed their condolences, along with various political leaders and elected representatives from Shikarpur.
Naseer Soomro’s passing marks the loss of a unique figure in Pakistan. His exceptional height and presence made him a well-known personality, admired both locally and internationally. His legacy will be remembered by all those who knew him and those who were inspired by his journey.
