Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has introduced the Aaghosh Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative providing financial support of Rs23,000 to pregnant women and mothers of children under two years old. This program aims to improve maternal and child health across Punjab, as reported by national media on Tuesday.
Aaghosh Program: Eligible Districts
In the initial phase, the Aaghosh Program will be implemented in 13 districts of Punjab, including:
- Dera Ghazi Khan
- Taunsa
- Rajanpur
- Layyah
- Muzaffargarh
- Kot Addu
- Bahawalpur
- Rahim Yar Khan
- Bahawalnagar
- Bhakkar
- Mianwali
- Khushab
- Lodhran
Financial Assistance Breakdown
Under the Aaghosh Program, financial aid will be provided in various stages:
- Pregnancy Support: A pregnant woman will receive Rs2,000 upon first registration at health centers or Maryam Health Clinics.
- Medical Check-ups: Women will be granted Rs1,500 per visit for medical check-ups, accumulating to Rs6,000 in total.
- Childbirth Benefit: Upon delivering a child at a health center, mothers will receive a gift of Rs4,000.
- Newborn’s First Check-up: Within 15 days of birth, Rs2,000 will be given for the infant’s first medical examination.
- Birth Certificate Registration: Mothers will receive Rs5,000 for registering their child’s birth certificate at a health center.
- Vaccination Incentive: For vaccinating a newborn, Rs4,000 will be provided, with Rs2,000 per dose.
How to Receive Financial Assistance
After completing free medical check-ups at designated health centers, the aid can be collected through Aaghosh Program cash agents.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that individuals in remote and underprivileged areas deserve access to public resources. A toll-free helpline has been established to assist women with inquiries regarding the program.
