U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a “full and immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan”, following an intense night of American-brokered negotiations. The development comes after days of rising military tensions and deadly missile exchanges between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Taking to his official social media platform, Trump declared:

“After a long night of U.S.-mediated talks, India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both countries for choosing Common Sense and Great Intelligence.”
This breaking ceasefire news follows widespread destruction reported on both sides of the border. India’s military confirmed significant damage at key airbases including Pathankot, Udhampur, Bhuj, and Adam Port after retaliatory Pakistani missile strikes.
Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus: Pakistan’s Retaliatory Strike
Just hours before the ceasefire announcement, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus, targeting Indian military installations in response to previous Indian offensives. According to security sources, at least three ‘Fatah 2’ missiles were fired, reportedly destroying India’s BrahMos missile storage site in Beas and crippling airbases in Udhampur, Halwara, Suratgarh, and more.
While the ceasefire announcement has yet to be officially confirmed by New Delhi or Islamabad, diplomatic insiders say backchannel efforts by Washington played a key role in averting all-out war.
