The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) and NDMA issued an emergency alert regarding ongoing heavy rains across Pakistan, with a risk of urban flooding in Sindh and Punjab over the next 24 to 48 hours. According to the PMD, urban flooding risk areas include Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Tharparkar, Badin, Umerkot, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Mianwali.
The ongoing rain, wind, thundershowers, and lightning activity is being reported in scattered locations across Punjab, Northeast Balochistan, South Balochistan, Sindh (including Karachi), and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The Met Office Islamabad confirmed that this weather system is expected to continue and may spread to nearby districts within the next 3 to 6 hours.

Cities and districts currently affected by rain and thunderstorm activity include Sargodha, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang, Kasur, Lahore, Narowal, Layyah, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Zhob, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Quetta, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbella, Awaran, Jacobabad, Thatta, Badin, Karachi, Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan, Kohat, Karak and surrounding areas.
