The petrol price in Pakistan increased by Rs 8.36 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs 266.79 per litre. Diesel price has also been raised by Rs 10.39 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs 272.98 per litre. The revised fuel prices are effective immediately.
According to official sources, the new petrol and diesel prices include a carbon levy of Rs 2.50 per litre. The total levy on petrol has now reached Rs 75.52 per litre, while the diesel levy is set at Rs 74.51 per litre.
The price hike comes at a time when rising fuel costs are expected to affect transportation charges and the prices of essential goods across the country. The increase in petrol rates is likely to impact household budgets and commercial activities.
