Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced a comprehensive development package aimed at boosting the education, health, agriculture, and urban infrastructure sectors across the province.
4,400 Teachers to Be Recruited, IBA Community Colleges Announced
In a press conference held on Tuesday, the minister revealed that the Sindh government will hire 4,400 new teachers as part of its plan to improve educational standards. Additionally, four new IBA Community Colleges will be established across the province to expand access to higher education.
Another significant decision is the granting of financial autonomy to 34,000 public schools starting next quarter. This move aims to strengthen school-level management and improve learning outcomes for students across Sindh.
Healthcare Sector to Receive Major Funding
Minister Memon shared that the government is also investing heavily in the health sector. Priority funding has been approved for major institutions, including:
- Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT)
- People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI)
- National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD)
- Chandka Medical College Hospital
Ambulance services across the province will also be upgraded to improve emergency response.
Karachi Development Projects Underway
Addressing urban infrastructure, Memon revealed that a special development package for Karachi will soon be implemented. The projects will cover road construction, water supply, sewerage systems, and mass transit infrastructure to address the growing needs of the city.
As part of the mass transit improvements, the minister confirmed that after the successful launch of 50 electric buses, an additional 100 electric buses will be introduced by August 2025.
Benazir Hari Card: Subsidies for 200,000 Farmers
In a major relief for the agriculture sector, the Sindh government has announced a phased subsidy scheme for 200,000 farmers under the Benazir Hari Card program. The initiative aims to support farmers and promote sustainable agriculture in the province.

Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to ensuring timely execution of all announced development projects. “Sindh is on the path of progress, and these initiatives reflect our vision for a more equitable and developed province,” he said.
