Jemima Goldsmith has claimed that her sons are being denied phone contact with their father, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and face threats of arrest if they attempt to visit him in prison. In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on July 10, 2025, Jemima said her children are not allowed to speak to Imran Khan and have been informed they will be arrested if they try to meet him in Pakistan.
The tweet stated, “My children are not allowed to speak on the phone to their father @ImranKhanPTI. He has been in solitary confinement in prison for nearly 2 years. Pakistan’s government has now said if they go there to try to see him, they too will be arrested and put behind bars.”
This statement has drawn widespread attention, especially from political observers and human rights advocates. Jemima Goldsmith’s remarks come at a time when Imran Khan remains incarcerated for over 700 days, reportedly in solitary confinement, facing multiple legal cases.
Imran Khan’s son Kasim Khan also posted on social media, stating that his father has been “denied access to lawyers, not allowed visits from family, fully cut off,” and that even his personal doctor is barred from seeing him. He called the situation a deliberate attempt to isolate his father.
Government officials, including Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, have maintained that foreign nationals, including Imran Khan’s sons, must refrain from participating in political activities in Pakistan. Authorities have warned that participation in protests or political gatherings could lead to legal action.
Jemima Goldsmith’s public statement has added further scrutiny to the treatment of Imran Khan and raised new concerns regarding the rights of his family, especially his sons.
