TikToker Sumaira Rajput found dead, under suspicious circumstances, at her home in Bago Wah locality of Ghotki. Police arrest her ex-husband Ali Raza Mughal, and a man called Imran in this case.
According to the FIR, the suspects allegedly forced Sumaira to drink a mixture containing pills, which caused her death. The victim’s daughter lodged the FIR at the A-Section Police Station. She stated that the suspects pressured her mother into a forced marriage and killed her when she refused.
Sumaira Rajput had parted ways with Ali Raza three years back. Police also reported that the victim used to display videos on social media previously, and that posed a threat to her security. Police are waiting until the post mortem report is out to ascertain the actual cause of his death.
Police registered the case and began further investigation. Officials confirmed they will collect more evidence after the post-mortem findings.
The Sindh Minister for Women Development, Shaheena Sher Ali, and government spokesperson Sukhdev Hemnani took notice of the incident. The Ghotki SSP has been asked to submit a full report. The Sindh government reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on forced marriage, violence against women, and murder.
