Juloos in Karachi Today: Chehlum 2025 Road Closures and Route Plan

The city government has informed the entire traffic strategy, making the routes to take and time of road closure during the Chehlum 2025 Juloos in Karachi today. The Chehlum Imam Hussain 2025 will take place today, 15 August on the traditional route starting at Nishtar Park towards Hussainia Iranian Imambargah.

Timings and Main Route for Chehlum Juloos in Karachi Today

According to officials, the juloos in Karachi today will start at 1:00 pm from Nishtar Park and proceed through MA Jinnah Road, concluding at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah. The traditional route will be followed, and no changes have been made to the main procession path for Chehlum Imam Hussain 2025 in Karachi.

Road Closures for Chehlum 2025 Karachi

For Chehlum Juloos in Karachi today, MA Jinnah Road will be closed for all traffic from Guru Mandir to Tower starting early morning until the end of the procession. Authorities have also confirmed that Numaish, Saddar, and Empress Market areas will remain sealed from 3:00 am to 11:00 pm. Parking along the Chehlum 2025 Karachi procession route will not be allowed at any time.

Traffic Diversions for Chehlum Imam Hussain Procession in Karachi

Traffic from Nazimabad will be diverted via Lasbela Chowk to Nishtar Road through Garden, while vehicles from Liaquatabad can use Teen Hatti toward Lasbela Chowk or Martin Road. From Hassan Square, the diversion will be via Kashmir Road to Society Light Signal, onward to Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road.

In the East District, traffic coming from Shahrah-e-Faisal will be diverted through Society Light Signal to Kashmir Road, and from Central Jail, the route will be via Bahadur Yar Jang Road to Soldier Bazaar.

In the South District, vehicles from Garden Zoo can turn right at Uncle Sarya toward Gul Plaza or left toward Coast Guard and Holy Family Hospital.

For heavy and commercial vehicles, traffic from Super Highway and Gulberg will be diverted via Liaquatabad No. 10 to Nazimabad Chowrangi No. 2, Habib Bank Flyover, Estate Avenue, Sher Shah, and Mauripur, with the same route for return. From National Highway, diversions include Shahrah-e-Faisal or Rashid Minhas Road toward Stadium Road and Hassan Square, following the designated heavy traffic route.

Only vehicles with official procession stickers will be allowed on MA Jinnah Road via Society Light Signal.

Entry Routes for Chehlum Participants and Aid Vehicles

Participants joining the juloos in Karachi today from Nazimabad will enter via Lasbela, Albela, Garden Jamaat Khana, and Soldier Bazaar No. 3 to Numaish. From Liaquatabad, the entry route will be Teen Hatti, Jehangir Road, Guru Mandir, and onward to Numaish. Those from Society Light Signal will head directly to Numaish, while participants from Gulistan-e-Johar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal will take University Road, Old Sabzi Mandi, and Kashmir Road to reach Numaish.

Vehicles carrying sabeel, niaz, and aid items will be allowed entry through Tower (Gurumandir), Lyari Expressway Garden Interchange, or Bahadur Yar Jang Road, leading to designated points near the procession route.

Security Arrangements for Chehlum Imam Hussain 2025 in Pakistan

For Chehlum 2025 security, 11,479 police personnel have been deployed across Karachi. This includes 7,465 officers for 108 processions, 2,901 officers for 501 majalis, and 1,113 officers for 642 imambargahs. The security plan also includes multiple checkpoints, snap searches, and bomb disposal sweeps along the Chehlum procession route in Karachi.

Mobile phone services will be disrupted in the sensitive localities when the procession is being taken out and Section 144 will be enforced to bring about law and order.
