A high-level Palestinian delegation has arrived in Pakistan on a four-day visit to attend the 50th International Seerat-un-Nabi Conference.
The delegation is led by Chief Islamic Justice of Palestine Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash. Members include Al Aqsa Mosque Imam Ahmad Hussein, Ibrahimi Mosque Imam Ghassan Al-Rajabi, and Hamza Dana, Director General of the Office of the Chief Islamic Justice.
The delegation received in Islamabad by Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi and the Secretary of Religious Affairs. Palestine’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Zaher, along with senior officials, was also present during the reception.
The Palestinian delegation will participate in the Seerat-un-Nabi Conference scheduled for September 6, 2025. The conference theme highlights the role of the state in guiding responsible social media usage in light of the Prophet’s teachings. This year’s conference also marks the 50th anniversary and the 1500th year of the Prophet’s birth.
During the visit, the delegation will meet the Prime Minister, the President, and other senior officials of Pakistan. Dr. Al-Habbash stated that Pakistan considered a second home for Palestinians and expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s stance alongside Saudi Arabia and the wider Muslim world.
The visit is religious and political as the Al Aqsa Mosque Imam was part of the delegation. The Imam will participate in the Seerat Conference and will talk to Pakistani leadership on Palestine matters.
The visit arrives at the moment when the situation in Gaza keeps worsening. More than 63,000 Palestinians reportedly killed since October 2023. The recognition of Palestine as a free state gaining momentum in the international calls, although Israel is increasingly being isolated.
Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi stated that Pakistan, its people, and its government stand firmly with their Palestinian brothers at all times. As per sources, He reiterated that Pakistan considers Israel an illegitimate state and supports the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state. He paid tribute to the struggle of the Palestinian people.
