The government has announced the latest petroleum prices in Pakistan effective from 16 September 2025. The new rates were issued by the Ministry of Finance after recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Petrol Price in Pakistan Stays the Same
According to the official notification, the price of petrol will remain at Rs 264.61 per litre for the next 15 days. The government has decided not to change petrol rates during this review period.
Diesel Price in Pakistan Revised Upwards
In Pakistan the diesel price was raised by 2.78 per litre and the new price was 272.77 per litre. The use of diesel in transport, agriculture and delivery of goods has increased significantly thus any fluctuation in the price of diesel in Pakistan will have a direct effect on the general costs of goods and services.
Other Petroleum Prices in Pakistan
- Kerosene Oil: Rs 176.81 per litre
- Light Diesel Oil (LDO): Rs 159.76 per litre
These petroleum prices in Pakistan will remain applicable until 30 September 2025, unless revised earlier.
In Pakistan, the petroleum prices are reviewed by the government on a fortnightly basis. The rate is set based on the changes in the international oil markets, exchange rates, taxes and transportation costs. The Finance Division sends the final notification relying on the recommendations of OGRA.
The petrol prices have not changed whereas the price of diesel in Pakistan has gone up. The new petroleum rates in Pakistan will remain to the end of the review one at the end of September.
