The Federal Ministry of Interior has given a notice to block mobile internet services in Rawalpindi and Islamabad because of security reasons.
According to the ministry, mobile data and internet services will remain suspended until further notice. However, landline phone and Wi-Fi services will continue to operate as usual.
Sources said that the Ministry of Interior has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and all mobile companies to implement the orders immediately.
In the meantime, people have been worried about the internet block. According to students, online business owners, and individuals related to digital platforms, the decision will bring severe inconveniences to their work.
