Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has officially rejected the rumor spread on viruses that the country is going to have the lowest winter in Pakistan 2025. To the latest update, there is no evidence or scientific data of predictions of record-breaking cold.
The seasonal forecast of winter of PMD in Pakistan (December to February) also shows that there will be near normal to slightly below normal rainfall in most areas. The temperatures are predicted to remain within the normal seasonal range, but there will be some parts of the country that will slightly be warmer than usual. The department pointed out that there are no severe cold waves expected in the year.
According to the PMD forecast, the winter of 2025 in Pakistan should start at the end of November and last until late February. Western disturbances may cause some short cold spells in some of the northern regions but they will not exceed normal limits. The department further stipulated that the weak La Nina period is expected to lessen the occurrence and magnitude of the winter systems restricting the occurrence of extended cold waves.
In reaction to the viral fake news, the PMD re-repeated that no coldest winter was anticipated in Pakistan. The citizens are discouraged to use unverified claims on social media but trusted predictions via the official channels used by the department.
The forecast of PMD shows that the winter in Pakistan 2025 will be normal cold conditions with below average rain after late November. The coldest winter that is predicted in Pakistan has not appeared.
