Earthquake in Pakistan: 5.3 Magnitude Tremors Hit Major Cities

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake hit Pakistan late on October 21, 2025. Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of KPK felt the tremors. Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that the earthquake felt at around 11:15 pm (local time), with its epicenter in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan at a depth of approximately 234 kilometers.

Despite the twin cities, the earthquake was also felt in the districts, including Swat, Dir, Malakand, Bajaur, Charsadda, and Nowshera. Residents felt shaking and felt panic and moved outdoors as the shaking felt more.

However, there are no casualties or major damage reported. The earthquake in Pakistan today was widely felt, but. the effect was low. Local administration and disaster management authorities still monitoring the situation to prepare for possible aftershocks.

Citizens are advised to stay safe and follow the safety earthquake guidelines given by authorities, specifically in the northern part of Pakistan.
