WhatsApp is now beginning to launch chat themes on Mac with 38 color selections available to customize their chat, providing users with a greater level of control over how their chat looks. The new update comes with new theme tools in the Chats section of WhatsApp Settings on MacOS.
There are 22 preset themes and 38 bubble and background color combination that the users can now select. The new WhatsApp Mac chat themes give the ability to customize individual or all chats. No other conversations can affect each chat as they could have their own look.
This update is expected to help users have more control and device consistency. However, the chosen theme on Mac does not match WhatsApp on the iPhone or other devices. The users are required to configure their favorite chat theme on each device.
The feature is being introduced slowly by the most recent WhatsApp Desktop app on macOS, according to WABetaInfo. It is available to the users through Settings – Chats – Chat Themes.
WhatsApp Mac chat themes are only rolled out in specific regions, although it will be rolled out worldwide in the near future. The feature can be turned on by the user checking in the App Store to verify the updates.
The Mac users are provided with more flexibility and personalization with the update. It fits into the larger trend at WhatsApp of enhancing the user experience on the desktop operating system and keeping it feature parity with the mobile operating system.
