Austerity Drive: Around 55 Govt Cars to Be Auctioned in Second Phase of the Project
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government’s austerity drive is set to auction around 55 luxury cars in the second phase of the project.
The vehicles that are stationed to be screened and auctioned includes 49 vehicles from the Prime Minister’s House and six luxury cars of the National Assembly Secretariat. Their auction is set to take place on October 17 and 24, respectively.
Among the luxury cars, twenty vehicles are reportedly bulletproof, while the other 27 are non-bulletproof cars. The government has also declared to put up for auction the nine cars, which were previously purchased during the tenure of Nawaz Sharif’s government.
The vehicles will be displayed for public inspection on October 15-16, at the Prime Minister’s House. Buyers will be able to check the luxury cars, their quality, additional details regarding the engine, and much more, during the auction days. Additionally, the Federal Board of Revenue, which is ready to monitor the whole two-day auction process, has further reduced taxes on the vehicles, to make it more easier for buyers to choose.
