Honda America recently announced the reintroduction of the Honda Civic Hybrid in the United States, unveiling the first look at the car as part of the 2025 Civic facelift debut. The 2021 Honda Civic, now three years old, set to undergo minor changes in its design and features.
The 2024 business outlook release by American Honda showcased the new facelift, revealing that North America will see the Civic Hybrid available in both sedan and hatchback body styles. Approximately 40% of Civic sales expected to comprised of the electrified variant following its launch. Interestingly, the facelift had previewed earlier, aligning with the Civic RS Prototype displayed at the Tokyo Salon 2024.
Key Changes in the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid “Sport Touring” include:
- A thicker front grille with honeycomb mesh, replacing the current lines and matching the lower grille
- New 7-spoke 2-tone alloy wheels
- Updated bumper design
- Revised smoked LED tail lamps
While no interior images have released, it is anticipated that the interior largely remain intact. Honda has hinted at “feature enhancements,” potentially including an updated infotainment system borrowed from the new Honda Accord. Traditionally, Honda facelifts have also incorporated mechanical upgrades for sportier models like the Si and Type R, raising anticipation for the official launch.
Reports suggest that the new Honda Civic Hybrid will feature a 1.5L gasoline unit, replacing the previous 2.0L engine. This change mirrors the power configuration of the discontinued Civic-based Insight from 2022.
