Huawei Audi Partner Up For Launching the Intelligent Self-driving Services
The news of Huawei Audi joining hands together has hyped many fans. The Chinese telecom giant Huawei and Germany’s leading automobile manufacturer Audi recently shared their future plans of joining hands in the field of intelligent connected vehicles (ICV). This Latest technology is set to be used in the new Audi Q7 to give more intelligent self-driving and more secure services.
They made the announcement at Huawei Connect 2018 on Thursday.
Commenting on the German manufacturer’s plans, Audi China R&D Executive Vice President Saad Metz said, “We evaluate joint development of highly automated driving functions and future-oriented vehicle-2-infrastructure communications.”
He added, “We are looking forward to intensifying the partnership with Huawei in future, because we are convinced that closer cooperation between our companies will bring substantial benefits for both sides.”
Agreeing with him, Huawei Director of the Board and Chief Strategy Marketing Officer William Xu said, “As cars get smarter, we take advantage of our leading ICT technologies with Audi – one of the world’s most successful premium car brands – to lead automatic driving into the fast lane. Very soon, consumers will enjoy more secure, comfortable, convenient and intelligent self-driving services.”
Huawei’s Mobile Data Centre (MDC) is installed into Audi Q7 for the urban automatic driving environment. The prototype was showcased in front of during the occasion.
Earlier in 2018, Huawei and Audi signed up strategic cooperation in Berlin to develop intelligent connected vehicles together. Now, their collaboration has further progressed in the overall strategy of the two parties.
