Pakistan is Proton’s most significant export market as it slowly grows its worldwide footprint. The business shipped 794 units to overseas markets in March 2021, 690 of which went to Pakistan, according to Paul Tan, a well-known Malaysian news source.
Proton sold 13,028 units in total in March 2022 (in Malaysia and other countries), up 41% from the same month the year before. The Saga model was the most popular, moving 6,422 units. With 2,320 units sold in a month, the X70 SUV was the second best-selling model and the sales of the X50 rose to achieve third place.
Proton dominates the Malaysian market, although it is less popular in Pakistan. Some of the reasons for this include poor sales, sluggish local manufacturing, lengthy delivery times, and a subsequent decline in demand.
By selling more than 500 X70s, Al-Haj Automotive marked an outstanding milestone in October 2022. According to a report from Autojournal.pk, this is the SUV’s greatest sales total since it first appeared in Pakistan.
Al-Haj Proton has had a difficult two years, mainly because of protracted supply delays brought on by logistical difficulties imposed by COVID-19.
Although amid Pakistan’s continuous economic unrest, the recent increase in sales demonstrates Al-Haj Automotive ascent to prominence.
