Suzuki Motor Corporation is set to make a significant change to its vehicle lineup, particularly targeting its popular Alto model. In a recent announcement, Suzuki revealed plans to reduce the weight and cost of its vehicles, including a shift towards lighter body structures and smaller batteries for its electric models.
According to ProPakistani, Suzuki Japan is focusing on enhancing energy efficiency by minimizing the weight of its vehicles while incorporating advanced safety technologies. The company aims to achieve a notable reduction in vehicle weight, which will contribute to lower energy consumption and increased driving range.
As part of this strategy, Suzuki plans to cut the weight of its Alto model by 15% over the next decade. Currently, the Alto weighs around 680 kilograms, but the company aims to reduce this to approximately 100 kilograms. To achieve this, Suzuki will introduce smaller engines and batteries in the Alto, which is expected to lead to a reduction in the vehicle’s overall cost.
This move is part of Suzuki’s broader initiative to make its cars more affordable and efficient, responding to growing consumer demand for cost-effective and environmentally friendly vehicles.
