Diesel, Petrol Price in Pakistan Latest Update: December 2024!

The federal government has announced a new increase in diesel and petrol prices in Pakistan, which will take effect from December 1, 2024. This decision came late Saturday night, attributing the hike to fluctuating global market conditions.

The latest notification by the Finance Division revealed that petrol, the most commonly used fuel for private vehicles, has gone up by Rs3.72 per liter. This brings the new petrol price to Rs 252.10 per liter. Similarly, high-speed diesel (HSD), a key fuel for the transport and agricultural sectors, saw an increase of Rs3.29, making its revised price Rs258.43 per liter.

Interestingly, not all fuels witnessed a price hike. Kerosene, a fuel frequently used in rural areas for cooking and heating, saw a minor drop of Rs 0.62, bringing the price down to Rs 164.98. Meanwhile, light diesel oil, also commonly used for industrial purposes, decreased by Rs0.48, settling at Rs151.73 per liter.

The rise in diesel petrol prices in Pakistan has sparked discussions across the country. With these changes, households and businesses relying on transportation and agricultural machinery are likely to feel the impact. On the other hand, the small relief in kerosene and light diesel oil prices might benefit rural and industrial users, albeit marginally.

As fuel costs continue to fluctuate, the public awaits further updates on how these changes will shape everyday expenses and transportation costs.
