On August 1, 2025, the government has made changes to fuel prices in Pakistan. According to official notification by the Ministry of Finance, petrol price in Pakistan decreased by Rs7.54 per litre and it is now at new price which is Rs 264.61 per litre.
On the contrary, high-speed diesel will be raised to Rs1.48 per litre with a new price set at Rs285.83 per litre. These new rates will be in operation from 1st to 15th August 2025 and fall under the normal 15-day consultation and review period.
The revised prices of petrol and diesel follows recommendations by OGRA and is linked to recent tendencies in world crude oil market, foreign exchange rates and premiums in importation. All of these changes will take effect immediately according to the Ministry.

This is in compliance with the fortnightly fuel review of the government which takes into account refinery costs, petroleum development levy (PDL), inland freight equalization margin (IFEM), dealer and OMC margins and other levies.
This reduced petrol price in Pakistan favors the commuters using motorbikes, cars, and rickshaws in their daily commute and the rise in diesel has the potential to affect the transport and agricultural industries. Before the recent price cut, the price of petrol in Pakistan had been on a rising trend.
