Government is working to deal with rupee devaluation, PM Imran Khan

Prime Minister Imran Khan said today that the government is working to deal with the rupee devaluation.

PM Imran Khan revealed that State Bank of Pakistan or SBP didn’t inform government before rupee devaluation. He met with the reporters and TV anchors in Islamabad and discussed the economic condition of Pakistan. In addition, he also discussed about the letter that he received from the US President Donald Trump today.

Imran Khan said that SBP did not inform the government about the rupee devaluation. He further added that he found about the news through television.

Rupee devaluation is becoming a huge concern for the trade and industry. USD to PKR ratio and the high interest rate is making the environment unfavorable to doing business.

On Friday, the US Dollar hit the all time high value of Rs 142 in the inter bank market. However, the debt has also increased by PKR 760 billion owing to the rise in the value of US dollar.
