Finance Minister Asad Umar will led the Economic Coordination Committee or ECC meeting that will discuss increase in power tariff.
During ECC meeting, increase in power tariff will be discussed. Asad Umar led committee will decide about the electricity prices in Pakistan.
In August, Prime Minister Imran Khan Eformed a 12 member ECC. Petroleum Minister Ghulam Abbasi, Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid, Law Minister Farogh Naseem, Planning and Development Minister Khusro Bakhtiar are included. In addition, PM’s advisers Dr Ishrat Hussain and Razak Dawood are also a part of committee.
In September, NEPRA increased the electricity prices in Pakistan twice. First, the tariff was increased by Rs 4 per unit.
Later, electricity prices were increased by Rs1.16 after the approval of petition submitted by the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) under fuel adjustment. However, CPPA earlier requested the Rs 1.50 hike in electricity prices.
