OGRA gas prices became the center of debate after conflicting reports on the new gas price in Pakistan surfaced. The authority first hinted at a reduction and later issued a clarification while new rates appeared in the market. The situation raised questions about Ogra gas prices in Pakistan and the approval process.
New Gas Price in Pakistan Creates Confusion
OGRA gas prices in Pakistan have changed again, and the situation has shifted rapidly. Initially, OGRA confirmed that the average gas prices for the current financial year would increase by up to 7.14%. The official numbers showed Sui Northern at Rs 1,852.80 per MMBTU and Sui Southern at Rs 1,777.02 per MMBTU.
Soon after the new gas price in Pakistan was reported, OGRA issued a clarification. The spokesperson said the market misunderstood the process. He insisted that OGRA did not approve any change in gas tariffs and that previous rates remained in place. This statement contradicted the circulated figures and sparked more questions about Ogra gas prices in Pakistan.

Earlier, OGRA had shared a different position. The spokesperson said the authority proposed a 3% reduction for Sui Northern and an 8% reduction for Sui Southern. The proposed rates were Rs 1,804.08 per MMBTU for Sui Northern and Rs 1,549.41 per MMBTU for Sui Southern. These numbers suggested a downward revision before the reported increase surfaced.
As the day moved forward, new updates again confirmed higher rates. Sui Northern appeared with the revised figure of Rs 1,852.80 per MMBTU. Sui Southern followed at Rs 1,777.02 per MMBTU. These shifts kept the discussion active around OGRA gas prices and the final gas price in Pakistan for the year.
