Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to reduce from September 1st. Sources within the government and industry have confirmed that petrol prices will see a cut of Rs. 2.97 per liter, bringing the price down from Rs. 260.96 per liter to Rs. 257.99 per liter. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) will drop by Rs. 2.31 per liter, with the new rate expected to be Rs. 263.76 per liter, down from Rs. 266.07 per liter.
This reduction follows a consistent decline in international market prices, allowing the government to pass on the benefits to consumers. Kerosene oil is also likely to see a reduction of Rs. 1.39 per liter, while light diesel oil could decrease by Rs. 1.96 per liter. These changes are anticipated to ease the burden on consumers across the country.
However, with three days remaining before the end of August, there is still a possibility of minor adjustments to the rates. Any fluctuations in international prices during this period could lead to slight changes in the announced prices. The final rates will be determined by the relevant authorities as the new pricing period approaches.
