Petrol price in Pakistan expected to increase by Rs. 21 per litre from July 1, 2025, as per projections made in a research report by Arif Habib Securities. Diesel prices may also see a hike of Rs. 27 per litre in the same revision.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) reviews fuel prices twice a month, based on trends in the international oil market. The new fuel prices for the first half of July will be officially announced on July 1, 2025, and will remain applicable until July 15, 2025.
Due to rising crude oil prices in the global market, driven by tensions in the Middle East, a significant increase in fuel rates is anticipated. This has raised public concern regarding how much the petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan will change.
Currently, the petrol price in Pakistan stands at Rs. 258.43 per litre. If the projected increase is implemented, it may reach Rs. 279.92 per litre. Similarly, the current diesel price of Rs. 262.59 per litre may rise to Rs. 289.93 per litre.
OGRA will finalise the new pricing after reviewing the latest international oil rate trends. Any revision will directly impact transport and goods movement costs across the country.
