Petrol prices in Pakistan may witness a significant decrease in the upcoming fortnight.

Media reports suggest that petrol prices in Pakistan may witness a significant decrease in the upcoming fortnight. According to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the price of petrol could potentially be reduced by Rs. 7 per litre, while diesel prices might experience a slump of Rs. 10 per litre. The finance minister will consult with the Prime Minister to finalize the decision based on OGRA’s recommendations.

Reports from various media sources indicate that there may be a substantial decrease in petrol prices in Pakistan over the next two weeks. According to recommendations submitted by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to the government, petrol prices could potentially see a reduction of Rs. 7 per litre, while diesel prices may experience a slump of Rs. 10 per litre.

The proposed decrease in fuel prices is currently under consideration by the finance minister, who will consult with the Prime Minister of Pakistan before announcing any changes. The final decision will be based on OGRA’s recommendations and the government’s objective of providing relief to the general public.

As of the most recent update on fuel prices in Pakistan, announced by finance minister Ishaq Dar on April 30, petrol prices remained unchanged at Rs. 282 per liter. However, during the same announcement, Kerosene Oil and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) prices saw a decrease of Rs. 10 per liter each. High-Speed Diesel (HSD) witnessed a reduction of Rs. 5 per liter, bringing it down to Rs. 288 from the previous rate of Rs. 293 per liter.

The possible fuel price reduction in Pakistan offers hope amid rising inflation. The government’s proactive approach, considering OGRA’s recommendations, aims to provide relief and address citizens’ concerns. The decision by the finance minister and the Prime Minister will determine the price decrease’s extent and impact on the economy and daily life.
