According to sources, PTI government is looking towards 7% growth rate by year 2023.
PTI government in its five term (till 2023) looking to maintain the 7% annual economic growth rate. However, it requires changes in the monetary and fiscal policies that are adopted for the stabilization of the economy of Pakistan.
Makhdum Khusro Bakhtiar, Federal Minister for Planning and Statistics, led the meeting to review the preparations for the 12th Five-Year Plan (2018-23) of Pakistan. Joint Chief Economist Rai Nasir Ali and Planning Secretary Zafar Hasan were also included in the participants.
The Planning Ministry highlighted the declining and volatile growth and also the low job creation ability of Pakistan’s economy. In addition, lack of investment-conducive climate, low efficiency and productivity, and macroeconomics and structural are the key factors to enhance economic growth.
It was apprised in the meeting that the plan’s draft is ready that will be launched after the approval. On the other side, inflation is expected to remain near 7%.
