The first e-commerce policy of Pakistan is under discussion as govt is looking to announce it soon.
E-commerce policy will be introduced first time in the history of Pakistan. However, the aim is to provide better opportunity in exports for businesses and new employment that will be beneficial for Pakistan.
E-commerce started in Pakistan in the year 2001 but there were no such payment methods except cash on delivery and bank payment method to keep continuing the trading. Later in 2009, Telenor launched ‘easy paisa’ mobile account services through which users were able to pay bills and transfer money domestically.
Due to the increased internet penetration. Which is getting easier and through which the transaction can be done at lower cost. The business to business and business to customer side of e-commerce is increasing day by day.
The proposed policy has the modification in the E-commerce policy. It will be effective for the locals as well as for the once across the border for the transaction.
