The 5th edition of TEXPO Pakistan 2024 has officially begun at Expo Center Karachi from 23rd to 25th October 2024. This three-day international exhibition is all about promoting our local textile and leather sectors, and it’s drawing a lot of attention with over 200 exhibitors showcasing their work. The excitement is real, as 573 foreign buyers from nearly 60 countries have also joined in, making it a buzzing hub for business networking.
The Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, digitally started the event, with important figures like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Sindh’s Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah present. Organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Textile along with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), TEXPO 2024 Karachi is more than just an exhibition; it’s a platform for new partnerships and collaboration.
During the opening, Jam Kamal Khan talked about how Pakistan’s textile and leather industries can become stronger and more competitive. He pointed out the need for both public and private sectors to work together for mutual growth. The minister also shared details about the Export Development Fund (EDF), which helps businesses with trade promotion, marketing, and skill development.
The event is not just about business talks; it’s also showcasing our rich cultural heritage. Local leaders emphasized the importance of this platform for artisans to present their skills to big markets like Europe and the US. Moreover, a vibrant fashion show featured top designers like Shamaeel Ansari and Sanam Chaudhry, putting Pakistan’s diverse fashion scene in the spotlight.
With plenty of business meetings and agreements happening, TEXPO 2024 Karachi is set to wrap up on October 25, 2024. The expectations are high for new business deals that will strengthen our textile export community and enhance Pakistan’s reputation on the global stage.
