All board exams abolished, Schools remain closed till 15 July

Exams of matric and intermediate canceled and schools, including all educational institutes, remain closed until 15 July.

Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood, while giving a briefing to media after the meeting of the National coordinating committee (NCC), announced that due to the present situation because of coronavirus, the examination of Matric board and the intermediate board will no longer be held. All the students will be promoted based on last year’s result, and so, in the universities, admission will be given based on class XI results.

He also mentions that earlier, it decided to keep the schools, and educational institutes closed till 31 May, but the situation is not clear yet. Hence, the date extended, now all the institutions of education will close till 15 July.

He clarifies that the decision has been made on the agreement of all provinces. He also announces that when the schools reopen, all the students will be able to enroll in a new class.

It is noted that all the decisions were taken during the meeting of NCC in Islamabad today that was led by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
