The Sindh Education Department has decided to install solar systems in schools across the province. District officers have been instructed to prepare lists of schools for solarization.
All schools without electricity will be shifted to solar energy. Officials said the lists should be submitted within three days.
District officers have been asked to complete the solarization work on a priority basis. The Education Department will share the school data with the Energy Department to ensure smooth implementation.
This initiative aims to provide uninterrupted power to schools in remote and underpowered areas. Solar systems will help maintain operations and support students’ learning even in areas with electricity shortages.
Officials said the program will start with schools in districts where electricity access is limited. The focus will be on ensuring energy security and improving school facilities.
The Education Department has focused on reporting and coordination in time. District officers should supply the real-time information about every school including the existing power conditions to enable quick installation of the solar panels.
