Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has finally broken the streak of exam paper leaks as the first paper of the matriculation exams was held smoothly across the city. This marks a major milestone for the board, which has been under scrutiny for years due to frequent leaks and mismanagement.
On the first day of annual matric exams for both 9th and 10th grades, all examination centers under the Board of Secondary Education Karachi began and concluded their exams right on schedule. Officials from BSEK made sure that question papers were delivered to the designated hubs on time and were securely handed over to the respective school superintendents without any delays or issues.
To further prevent academic misconduct, BSEK Chairman Ghulam Hussain Sohoo announced that strict action would be taken against anyone found leaking or circulating exam papers on social media. He warned that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been involved and will investigate any such cases. Moreover, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi is also considering introducing QR codes on future exam papers to curb cheating and trace unauthorized sharing.
Chairman Ghulam Hussain Sohoo, along with Controller of Examinations Zaheer Bhutto and other senior officials, visited multiple exam centers to monitor the situation closely. Their visit included stops at Comprehensive Government Girls High School Block M and Children’s Educational Center Government Boys Secondary School in North Nazimabad. Members of both the print and electronic media accompanied them during the inspection, ensuring transparency and accountability.
The successful and timely execution of the first paper has restored some trust in the Board of Secondary Education Karachi and brought relief to both students and parents. Many now hope that this year’s exams will continue without any further controversies or mishaps.
