The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced that the HSSC 2nd annual exam papers scheduled for today, 18th October 2024, have been postponed. The board made this decision in light of the current situation across the country, which has caused uncertainty and concerns over safety. This sudden change affects all examination centers under FBISE, including those overseas.
According to the notification issued, the revised dates for the postponed papers will be announced soon. As for the other exams, the board confirmed they will take place as planned, following the already notified timetable.
Today’s nationwide protests, organized by PTI, have played a major role in the board’s decision. With law and order being a big concern, Punjab, especially Rawalpindi, is experiencing a shutdown of educational institutions as a safety measure. Section 144 also imposed in Rawalpindi, which means gatherings are banned, and strict security measures are in place.
The announcement comes as students were all set to appear for their exams today, leaving many feeling disappointed and anxious about their future plans. There’s a mix of relief and frustration among students and parents. While some believe safety should always come first, others are worried about the uncertainty and the disruption in the academic calendar.
