HEC will launch research grant program for unemployed PhDs


Islamabad: Higher Education Commission or HEC is thinking to launch the research grant program for the unemployed PhDs degree holders.

The unemployed PhDs in Pakistan will get a benefit as Vice Chancellors of different universities discussed in the meeting. However, key decisions were taken regarding the jobless PhDs in Pakistan.

Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Benazirabad took the decision to offer jobs to 22 unemployed PhDs out of 105 CVs in different disciplines. However, same decisions would be followed by other universities.

The candidates should affiliate themselves with the university on the honorary basis to avail the grant.

The choice has been taken for the foundation of an advisory group, to be led by Dr Farrukh Iqbal, Director, IBA Karachi to attempt an analysis of teacher student ratio in different programs and prescribe rules and guidelines for the improvement of value.

HEC has officially gathered information on jobless PhDs and has set a deadline of January, 31 for the Academic Jobs Portal launching.
