In response to the relentless heatwave sweeping across the province, the Sindh government has rescheduled the intermediate examinations. Initially set to commence on May 22, the exams will now kick off on May 27, a five-day delay approved by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and endorsed by the provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Muhammad Ali Malkani.
The decision comes as a measure to safeguard students from the sweltering heat that has held the metropolis in its grip for several weeks. With temperatures predicted to rise significantly over the next ten days, the move is a proactive step towards ensuring the well-being of the exam-takers.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasts that the country may be hit by three heatwaves in various cities over the next 25 days. The presence of high atmospheric pressure is expected to intensify the heatwave conditions in most parts of the country.
This strategic rescheduling of the intermediate exams is a testament to the Sindh government’s commitment to prioritizing student welfare amidst challenging weather conditions.
