In response to the plummeting temperatures, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced a significant change in the operating hours for schools and colleges across both urban and rural areas of Islamabad. These adjustments will be effective from December 1, 2023, until January 31, 2024.
New Timings for Single-Shift Institutes:
For single-shift institutions, the revised schedule mandates operations from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Fridays will witness an early closure at 12:30 pm.
Updated Schedule for Double-Shift Institutes:
Double-shift institutes in the federal capital will experience alterations in both morning and evening sessions. The morning session will now run from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with a concluding time of 12:30 pm on Fridays. The evening shift is slated from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, while the second shift kicks off at 2:30 pm on Fridays.
Postgraduate Colleges Inclusion:
Postgraduate colleges are not exempt from this adjustment. They will operate either from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm or from 4:00 pm onwards.
This move by the FDE aims to streamline educational activities during the winter season and ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff alike. Stay tuned for any further updates on this development.
