The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has officially unveiled the winter vacation schedule for all educational institutions in Islamabad, bringing festive cheer to students and educators.
In a recent notification, the FDE declared that schools and colleges under its jurisdiction will observe winter holidays from December 25 to December 29. This break will be extended to include December 30 and December 31, given that they fall on a Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Classes in Islamabad’s schools and colleges are slated to resume on January 1, 2024, marking the beginning of the new academic year.
In a proactive move to prepare for the winter season, adjustments to operational hours were announced in November for both urban and rural educational institutions across the federal capital. According to the earlier notification, these revised timings will remain in effect until January 31, 2024.
For single-shift schools and colleges in Islamabad, the updated schedule outlines operations from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. Fridays will follow a different timing, concluding at 12:30 pm for an early closure.
This thoughtful planning by the FDE aims to ensure a smooth transition into the winter holidays while maintaining a focus on the well-being and convenience of students, teachers, and staff. As the festive season approaches, the educational community in Islamabad eagerly anticipates a rejuvenating break before the start of the new academic term.
