Today marks the 4th day of intermediate examinations under the Karachi Board of Intermediate Education. Unfortunately, the board’s efforts to secure the integrity of the exams have once again fallen short.
Despite stringent measures, today’s 2nd-year mathematics paper was leaked and circulated on social media just 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. This incident raises serious concerns about the effectiveness of the Karachi Intermediate Board’s security arrangements.
The board had implemented what they believed to be foolproof arrangements to prevent such leaks. However, these measures proved inadequate as the paper went viral, causing widespread outrage among students and parents alike.
Karachi Intermediate Exams Timings
Exams are conducted in two shifts: the morning session runs from 9 AM to 12 PM, and the afternoon session from 2 PM to 5 PM. In response to the leaks, Chairman Naseem Memon has enforced Section 144 at all examination centers. This legal provision is intended to maintain order and prevent unauthorized gatherings.
Chairman Memon also announced that photocopy machines near examination centers would remain closed during the exam period. Moreover, any mobile phones brought by students to the exams will be confiscated to further curb potential leaks.
The recurring issue of paper leaks undermines the credibility of the examination system and highlights the need for more robust security measures. The Karachi Intermediate Board must address these vulnerabilities to ensure a fair and secure testing environment for all students.
