Sindh has changed Karachi school timetables as cold mornings continue. As of January 12, 2026 schools may now start opening later so that students are not exposed to low temperatures. The ruling applies to both the public and the private schools and is effective until January 26.
Karachi School Timings Winter 2026
From January 12, schools in Karachi now open at 9:00 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. The revised schedule covers all public and private schools. Authorities confirmed the change through an official notification.
Karachi recorded repeated single-digit temperatures in recent days. Cold mornings became harder for young students. Education officials reviewed weather reports before acting.
Sindh changed schedules instead of shutting down schools; however, there’s no change in the closing times announced.
How Long the New Timings Will Apply
The altered Karachi school timing for winter 2026 is applicable till January 26. Conditions will be re-examined under the condition that the temperatures remain low.
The updated schedule should be strictly adhered to in schools. Administrations were requested by education departments to inform parents in a clear manner. Pickup times were also adjusted by the transport providers.
